It is one of the tasks of the German Dairy Industry to inform the dairy sector on the latest developments and trends. The agricultural markets are changing every day. This has an impact on supply and demand in the global dairy sector. It is therefore important to us to discuss international developments with all stakeholders while keeping track of all relevant issues at the same time.
Our events encompass a wide range of topics, from economics and international legislation to reactions to possible food scandals or issues concerning environmental protection or animal welfare.
The “Open Day 2011” and the recent workshops organized by us on “Sensory Analysis of Milk and Milk Products” and “Environmental Protection and Best Available Techniques” are examples for this.
We were organizers of the World Dairy Summit 2009 held in Berlin, where we could welcome 1500 guests from 52 countries. The event was accompanied by 45 exhibitors and sponsors. For more than one week, experts of the global dairy industry met in Berlin to discuss current developments. 10 conferences and more than 30 committee meetings dealt with all areas, from dairy policy and economics and nutrition or dairy technology to environmental protection, dairy marketing, animal health and chemical analysis. Many results could be achieved in detail. The signing of a global climate protection initiative of the dairy industry is one example for this.
